This notice explains how OpenOrchid handles information on this public website. It does not describe the privacy practices of a future Canopy clinical product, patient record, or healthcare provider.

Information this site handles

This website has one way to submit personal information: the Canopy waitlist form. Everything else on the site is read-only. We do not offer accounts or purchases, and we do not use advertising or behavioural analytics.

When you visit, ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect a website may be processed automatically. This can include your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, and the date and time of the request.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you enter, which form you used, the date and time you submitted it, and whether your confirmation email was sent. We deliberately do not store your IP address, browser, or device information with your signup.

We use that address to send you one confirmation email and to contact you about Canopy as it develops. We do not sell it, share it for anyone else’s marketing, or add it to an unrelated mailing list. To be removed at any time, reply to the confirmation email and ask; we will delete your entry.

Cookies and similar technologies

OpenOrchid does not set advertising, analytics, or personalization cookies on this website, and the site displays no cookie banner because there are no non-essential cookies to accept or reject. The bot-protection service described below may use cookies or browser storage strictly to tell automated traffic from real visitors on the waitlist form. We will update this notice before introducing analytics, advertising, personalization, or another feature that changes that position.

How information is used

Technical request information may be used to serve the site, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Waitlist information is used only for the purposes described above. We do not use either to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

Service providers and location

The site is hosted by Vercel, which also provides the bot protection guarding the waitlist form against automated submissions. Waitlist entries are stored in a Neon Postgres database, and confirmation emails are delivered by Resend.

These providers store and process information in the United States. If you join the waitlist, your email address is therefore held outside Canada and is subject to the laws of the country where it is stored, including lawful access by authorities there. Each provider’s processing is also governed by its own terms and privacy commitments.

Disclosure

Information may be disclosed to service providers supporting the website, when required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect the site, OpenOrchid, or others. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and security

We retain technical information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, subject to provider settings and legal requirements. Waitlist entries are kept until Canopy is generally available or until you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information held about you, including asking about its use or requesting access, correction, or deletion. If you are on the waitlist, replying to your confirmation email reaches us and is the simplest way to exercise them. For ordinary site request data we generally cannot connect a request to a named visitor without additional information.

Privacy contact

OpenOrchid is based in Saskatchewan, Canada. We do not currently publish a privacy email or mailing address; if you are on the waitlist, replying to your confirmation email reaches us. Please do not send personal health information, or anyone else’s personal information, through this website. The waitlist form asks only for an email address, and that is the only thing you should put in it.
